Anythink Grows Returns for 2014 Growing Season

Anythink’s garden project, Anythink Grows, returns this spring to provide gardening opportunities to community residents at several Anythink locations. The community garden at Anythink Wright Farms has several plots available for the 2014 season. Current and prospective gardeners are invited to attend an informational gathering at Anythink Wright Farms on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 pm to learn more about the program and how to get started.

Anythink Grows is a partnership with Denver Urban Gardens to develop gardens where community members are invited to plant, grow and harvest vegetables, fruits, herbs and flowers. Participants are invited to sign up for plots that they will maintain throughout the growing season. Community volunteer workdays will also be held, where residents can help work on the gardens, building raised beds and creating pathways.

Community members interested in acquiring a plot at Anythink Wright Farms should fill out an Anythink Grows plot form. Plots are allotted on a first-come, first-served basis. Dues for the 2014 gardening season are $35 per plot, which are roughly 10 feet by 10 feet in size. This fee includes the cost of water, compost and, if available, seeds and seedlings. Updates on plot availability at Anythink Commerce City and Anythink Perl Mack will be announced in coming weeks.
