Anythink's Pam Sandlian Smith to Present at TEDxMileHigh
In an effort to bring inspiring ideas to Colorado, Anythink Director Pam Sandlian Smith will join nine other innovators selected to present at TEDxMileHigh: Women | Values + Instincts. The event, scheduled to take place at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts on Nov. 16, 2013, aims to share inspirational ideas through the lens of this year’s “Values and Instincts” theme. TEDxMileHigh combines the popular TEDTalks video with local, live speakers to spark deep discussion and connection along the Front Range.
“I have been a TED fan for years,” says Sandlian Smith. “It’s a source for sharing ideas and inspiration. It is both an honor and a privilege to talk about how libraries impact their communities.”
As a longtime “disruptive librarian,” Sandlian Smith’s presentation will focus on reinventing the role and relevancy of libraries in the community. She will join other women who are pushing boundaries and making huge impacts in science, sociology, artistry, health and education.
“Considered one of Colorado’s leading thinkers, Pam is an incredible addition to our upcoming TEDxMileHigh program on Nov. 16,” says Jeremy Duhon, TEDxMileHigh Curator. “The public library system has seen radical changes over the past decade, and Pam is one of the visionaries who is transforming our view on what a library is and how it should function. She has infused her libraries with unprecedented creativity, which has led to extraordinary impact in the surrounding communities.”
