  • Oct. 17: Layered Sand Keychains – Fill a shape with different-colored sand to make a special keychain.
  • Oct. 24: Buttons! – Create some flare with different kinds of buttons.
  • Oct. 31: Masks – Make a fun, feathery, glittery or scary mask for this day of costumes!

If you’ve ever wanted to write a novel – whether it’s in 30 days or 30 months – you’ll find this class inspirational and supportive. The four-week course includes instruction, class discussion and writing exercises and is designed to give you helpful hints on how to successfully complete National Novel Writing Month. We’ll play games, use easy musical instruments, shake bean bags and parachutes, and get ourselves moving and grooving! A new way to explore early literacy and create the path to lifelong learning! This drop-in program is for children through 6 years old and their parents, and has multiple centers reflecting early-literacy skills (books, hands-on activities, crafts or music). Participants will be gathered together two times during the hour to do a group movement or story activity.

Use forensic science to solve a murder mystery. Analyze crime evidence such as blood samples, fingerprints and unknown powders, and learn how CSI agents use the scientific process to solve crimes. Hosted by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Grades 6-12 welcome.
