Children in elementary school are invited to read to our wonderful dog volunteers. They join us on the third Saturday of each month. This is an excellent program for children who are learning to read or need practice reading. Our patient dogs love to listen and they never criticize. Therapy dogs provide a safe, non-judgmental audience for kids to practice their reading out loud. Bring a book you’ve been working on or choose from one of ours. Read to one of our patient, furry friends provided by Therapy Dogs Boulder County. This program is appropriate for ages 4-12. Space is limited, registration is required. This month the book club book is yours to keep! Join us to discuss Steven R. Hoffbeck’s The Haymakers, a historical account of five farming families over 150 years, struggling to make hay. To obtain your copy of the book to keep, speak with an Anythink Commerce City staff member. Depending on weather, this program will be held outside at Anythink Commerce City. Please bring a warm beverage to enjoy. Masks are recommended, and physical distancing measures are in place.
