You know winter and the holidays are here when you see the colorful glow of festive lights draped across houses and trees everywhere you look.

This year, the library staff at Anythink Commerce City wanted to join the festivities! They transformed the library’s backyard into an outdoor winter light display for customers and neighbors in the area to enjoy all season long.

From crisp December evenings to quiet January strolls, this is the perfect outing for families, friends, and individuals to visit the library and experience the peaceful ambiance and inviting beauty of the lights. The evening light display will be up through the end of January.

Come and make a night of it! Bring your loved ones, take some photos, and explore what the library offers during opening hours. From books to cozy spaces, there’s something for everyone at Anythink Commerce City.

• Winter Festival
  Friday, December 20, 1-3 pm
  Come celebrate the season of winter at the library and say “hello” to the live reindeer from the Hahn Reindeer Farm! Listen to a live musical performance by The Original Dickens Carolers, get frosted face-painting from Amazing Faces, and sip hot beverages from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck (while supplies last)
• Fireside Serenade
  Saturday, December 21, 2-4 pm
  Relax and enjoy a live musical performance of classics and covers by Vio the Violinist.
• New Year’s Cuisine: Pongal Festival
  Saturday, January 4, 2-4 pm
  Celebrate the new year with flavors and festivals from India! Learn about Pongal, a harvest festival, through some of the celebratory dishes made and eaten during the festival. Watch as Akila, our expert chef, makes four vegetarian and gluten-free dishes from scratch in honor of this “festival of farmers."
• Vision Boards Party
  Saturday, January 11, 2-4 pm
  Celebrate the new year by making a vision board for 2025! Come prepared with an idea of your goals, new aspirations, or words of intention.
• Winter Candle Making
  Saturday, January 25, 12-1:30 pm
  Select your preferred unique scents and make your own winter candles with our candle making expert.
