Join us for this three-part series about creating fulfilling friendships in adulthood. The series opens with a fireside chat with Kat Vellos, author of We Should Get Together: The Secret to Cultivating Better Friendships and Connected from Afar: A Guide for Staying Close When You’re Far Away. The second and third sessions in the series will be interactive workshops designed to help you create closer friendships in your own life. Making and maintaining friendships in adulthood can come with challenges. Author and educator Kat Vellos joins us for a fireside chat on how to overcome those challenges – even in a pandemic. Discover ways to transform a sense of disconnection into authentic connections and fulfilling friendships.

Word is Bond: Harness the Power of Writing to Create Closer Friendships

In this one-hour interactive workshop, reflect on the value of past and present friendships in your life, and use the power of the pen to boost the bonds that matter to you. Participants should have loose paper (especially if it’s fun or interesting paper but plain paper is fine too), pencils/pens, markers, envelopes, and stamps.

The Friendship Map: Create an Action Plan to Weave More Connection into Your Life

In this one-hour interactive workshop, explore platonic connection from multiple angles to identify how you can invite more fulfilling experiences of friendship into your life on a regular basis. Participants should have loose paper or a journal, pencils/pens, and markers.

This month, we will be joined by the Ni Shang Dance Academy as they show us how to do the Peacock Dance, a traditional Chinese Folk dance. Cultivating Connection with Kat Vellos

Join us for this three-part series about creating fulfilling friendships in adulthood. The series opens with a fireside chat with Kat Vellos, author of We Should Get Together: The Secret to Cultivating Better Friendships and Connected from Afar: A Guide for Staying Close When You’re Far Away. The second and third sessions in the series will be interactive workshops designed to help you create closer friendships in your own life. You’re welcome to attend one, two, or all three of the sessions in this series. All workshops are held in Mountain Standard Time (MST). 

SESSION 1

Fireside Chat with Kat Vellos

Making and maintaining friendships in adulthood can come with challenges. Author and educator Kat Vellos joins us for a fireside chat on how to overcome those challenges – even in a pandemic. Discover ways to transform a sense of disconnection into authentic connections and fulfilling friendships.  

SESSION 2

Word is Bond: Harness the Power of Writing to Create Closer Friendships

In this one-hour interactive workshop, reflect on the value of past and present friendships in your life, and use the power of the pen to boost the bonds that matter to you. Participants should have loose paper (especially if it’s fun or interesting paper but plain paper is fine too), pencils/pens, markers, envelopes, and stamps.

SESSION 3

The Friendship Map: Create an Action Plan to Weave More Connection into Your Life

In this one-hour interactive workshop, explore platonic connection from multiple angles to identify how you can invite more fulfilling experiences of friendship into your life on a regular basis. Participants should have loose paper or a journal, pencils/pens, and markers.

These programs will be held online in Mountain Standard Time (MST). A Zoom link will be sent to all registered attendees in advance.

See chemical reactions before your eyes with a Valentine’s Day twist! You’ll see the difference in molecules using just milk, dish soap and food coloring. 

Interactive family programs will be available to take home weekly alongside Kids’ Café snacks. Please limit one per household. These programs are available while supplies last on a first-come, first-served basis. Programs require adult supervision, but all materials are provided.
