Rangeview Library District’s Anythink Bennett, designed by Humphries Poli Architects, was awarded Colorado Construction magazine’s Gold Hard Hat Award for Small Project at a reception on Friday, Oct. 2. Ozi Friedrich, designer of the project, accepted the award on behalf of Humphries Poli Architects and the district.
“We speak for the entire A/E/C industry in Colorado in saying congratulations to the Bennett Library project for being named among ‘the best of the best’ in 2009 at the annual Gold Hard Hat Awards,” said Mark Shaw, senior managing editor, Colorado Construction magazine.
Anythink Bennett, which opened its doors to the public on Saturday, May 31, is featured in the October issue of the magazine. It will also be entered into the National Best of 2009 Awards to be judged against the winners from other regions. The winners of the National Best of 2009 Awards will be profiled in a national supplement that will run in Engineering News-Record and 11 regional publications, reaching more than 150,000 design and construction professionals.
“We are so very proud of this honor from Colorado Construction,” says Rangeview Library District director Pam Sandlian Smith. “Our goal with this project was to create a focal point in the community, a library and gathering place where everyone feels welcome. The architects and designers at Humphries Poli Architects helped us achieve that. This award proves what others recognize as well – Anythink Bennett is a special place.”
