Anythink partners with Code.org to host Hour of Code
In an effort to demystify coding and continue its commitment to STEM programming, Anythink is partnering with Code.org to bring Hour of Code to students across Adams County. Throughout Computer Science Education Week – Dec.8-14, 2014 – students can visit their local Anythink to explore fun, hands-on coding tutorials that will help nurture creativity and problem-solving skills.
“Anythinkers will be joining millions of students in more than 180 countries to participate in this year’s Hour of Code, showing that anyone can be a computational learner,” says Anythink Director of Special Projects Lynda Freas. “This is a wonderful opportunity for us to be a part of a worldwide learning community.”
To make computer science a fun experience for everyone, Hour of Code tutorials are designed to appeal to a wide variety of ages, skills and interests, including art and gaming. Committed to making technology accessible and fixing the diversity gap in the tech industry, this international movement boasts support from public figures like Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg and President Obama.
