Anythink Seeks Artists in Residence for The Studio
Anythink is currently looking for creative community members interested in sharing their skills as Artists in Residence at The Studio, Anythink's creation labs.
Videographers, graphic designers, musicians, textile artists and other creative professionals who are interested in pushing creativity to new bounds are encouraged to apply to be an Artist in Residence. A small stipend is available up to $100 per session, depending on experience. Potential applicants should have an up-to-date portfolio of their work, as well as a strong desire to engage with teens in the community.
The Studio is a place where teens connect with tools to express their creativity – whether they want to be performers, designers, filmmakers or sportscasters. Anythink Artists in Residence act as mentors to students who are exploring their passions in these creative spaces by teaching them how to use the tools and providing feedback. These individuals will guide students through innovative programming and examples of real-world applications, helping to foster entrepreneurship and 21st-century skills.
The Studio also describes Anythink's overall approach to hands-on, participatory programming. Projects like Explore Outdoors, community gardens and Anythink's mySummer program all encompass what The Studio is all about – providing opportunities for community members to explore their creativity, sense of discovery and connect with others.
