Anythink is hosting a garden party on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2023, from 9-11 am, to celebrate the grand opening of the new Anythink Wright Farms pollinator garden. Designed to help further the learning and understanding of the importance of pollinators in the area, this garden is another way that the library helps to foster connections between nature and the community. The grand opening will include live music from guitarist Jose Francisco Gutierrez and light refreshments. This event is free and open to the public.  

Located at the southeast corner of the Anythink Wright Farms site, the garden spans 1.5 acres, and features over 900 plantings of flowers and plants that attract bees, butterflies, hummingbirds and other pollinators. Community members can enjoy views of the garden from walkways, benches and a pergola, while enjoying the natural sounds from the basalt fountain. There will also be places throughout the garden for people of all ages to interact with learning prompts to better understand the role pollinators play in environmental stewardship. The garden was designed by Confluence landscape architecture firm and landscaped by Keesen Landscape. 

“At Anythink, we believe learning extends beyond the library walls, and we are passionate about making connections between people and the natural world,” says Stacie Ledden, Anythink director of strategic partnerships. “Spaces like the Anythink Wright Farms pollinator garden not only provide a beautiful place for residents to reflect and enjoy, but they inspire deeper understanding and respect for ecosystems and our environment. We look forward to celebrating this beautiful new garden with our community and the enjoyment it will bring for years to come.” 

The garden was made possible in part by the generous support of Anythink Foundation donors and Amazon. It is dedicated to former Anythink Board of Trustees member Linda Wisniewski to honor her 10 years of service on the board from 2009 to 2019.
