Family Place Programming Spring Schedule at Anythink
Family PlaceTM workshops are available again this spring at Anythink libraries. These five-week workshops are designed for caregivers and children ages birth to 3 to play and interact while childhood experts are on hand covering everything from literacy to nutrition in an informal, relaxed environment. This spring will also be the first time Family Place workshops are offered at our flagship branch, Anythink Wright Farms. These workshops will repeat again at all Anythink locations this fall.
Family Place Libraries™ is a network of children’s librarians nationwide who believe that literacy begins at birth, and that libraries can help build healthy communities by nourishing healthy families. Founded by the Middle Country Public Library in Suffolk County, Long Island, in 1979, the goal was to create a community-based learning place for parents while encouraging parent-child interaction. Family Place Libraries position the public library as a recognized source for early childhood information.
