mySummer Returns with New Experiences at Anythink Libraries
Unique Summer Reading Program Runs June 2-July 28
This June and July, Anythink invites everyone to READ THINK DO once again with mySummer, the district’s popular summer reading program that runs from June 2-July 28. Known for emphasizing creative experiences, this edition of mySummer comes with nearly 90 new programs to spark learning, fun and creativity for all ages. Participants can become mySummer members by filling out the online form, beginning Saturday, June 2.
mySummer Programs
Anythink’s innovative programs are at the heart of mySummer. With 275 programs scheduled, there’s something for everyone, from playing giant lawn games to learning to roll sushi to dressing up like Lady Gaga. Also making appearances are entertaining performers like the Jackman Brothers and Play-Ground Theatre, while JumpBunch will get Anythink’s younger customers outside and playing.
Many mySummer programs require online registration through Anythink’s website calendar. Community members interested in attending these unique individual programs can register later this month.
Record Your Summer
mySummer members are encouraged to set their own goals and define their own summer experiences. After customers sign up for membership, they’ll receive their very own mySummer journal. They can then begin recording their summer goals, booklists, photos, thoughts – whatever their creativity inspires. Take-home sheets that fit in the journals will be available at all Anythink locations as well as online so the mySummer fun can continue at home.
Read a Book, Add a Pom-Pom
All books read over the summer will be represented at each branch through the “Read a Book, Add a Pom-Pom” program. For every book a customer or staff member reads, they’ll add a pom-pom to an interactive display, which will quickly grow and change throughout the summer.
mySummer Kickoff Parties
To kick off mySummer, celebrations will be held at each of Anythink’s seven locations. Below is the schedule for mySummer kickoff events:
