RESOLUTION PROHIBITING THE OPEN CARRY OF FIREARMS ON RANGEVIEW LIBRARY DISTRICT PROPERTY

WHEREAS,

a. The Rangeview Library District (“the District”) is a political subdivision of the State of Colorado, organized as a Library District pursuant to Section 24-90-101, et. seq., C.R.S; and,

b. Pursuant to §29-11.7-104, C.R.S., as modified by §18-12-214, C.R.S. and §18-12-105.3, C.R.S. a local government may enact a regulation prohibiting the open carry of a firearm in a building or specific area within a local government’s jurisdiction so long as notice of such regulation is posted at all public entrances; and,

c. The Board of Trustees desires to prohibit the open carry of firearms at all library and administrative facilities located in the District.

NOW, THEREFORE,

The Board of Trustees of the Rangeview Library District:

1. Adopts the regulation; and

2. Requires that such regulation be posted at all public entrances to Rangeview Library District facilities.

This Resolution is adopted this 21st day of August, 2024.
