Painting from life – “en plein air” – is both a challenging and rewarding way to depict the natural world. Join local artist Loretta Foyle for a live outdoor workshop in pastels for beginning and intermediate experience levels. Light snacks, art supplies and an easel will be provided to participants, but please bring along your own chair, sun protection, and water. We will meet at East Lake's tennis courts before journeying as a group to our location promptly at 10am. Appropriate for adults. Space is limited; online registration required. Anythink and Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art have teamed up to bring you an art-making workshop each month. Join a visiting artist and express yourself through a variety of art media, with emphasis on creativity and fun! Appropriate for kids ages 5-12. No registration required.
Join us for opening night of "The Disquietingly Beautiful Forest," a community art exhibition featuring mixed media and sound art designed around interpretations on a single theme. The exhibition is created by community members under the guidance of Anythink staff and artists in residence, and is a featured destination on the City of Brighton's pARTy Bus route. The pARTy Bus takes passengers to different art receptions across the city and will continuously circle the route from each reception. Attendees have the freedom to get on and off at any time and are advised to park at any of the receptions. There is no cost to ride the bus. In celebration of Anythink's upcoming screening of Loving Vincent, join Violet Hive Art for an introduction to art therapy. Learn about the connections between creation and mental wellness, participate in several artistic exercises and make a piece of art inspired by Van Gogh's style, all facilitated by professoinal art therapists.
