Join us at Barr Lake State Park (13401 Piccadilly Rd., Brighton) on Tuesday, July 10 starting at 10:45 am for a day filled with outdoor fun and summer adventure.

Schedule of events:

10:45 am - Arrive and meet at the Nature Center

11 am – Barr Lake ranger-led program

12 pm – Free refreshments at Barr Lake provided by Food Bank of the Rockies 

1 pm – Anythink program

2 pm – Explore on your own

Admission: No matter your age, you can sign up for mySummer at your local Anythink and receive a $3.50 gift certificate to Colorado Parks & Wildlife that can be used at any Colorado state park – including Barr Lake. If you've already used your mySummer gift certificates, you can also show your Anythink library card at the entrance gate between the hours of 10:45 am-1 pm on July 10 for free admission. Otherwise, entrance to Barr Lake State Park is $7 per vehicle.

Getting out into nature doesn’t have to be messy! Modern luxuries meet the outdoors as you explore ways to glam up your campsite with gourmet camping meals and more.  Appropriate for students in grades 6-12. Space is limited; registration is recommended.

Have you ever wondered how a submarine can see above the water? Or maybe you want to peek around a corner or over a wall without anyone seeing you. Embrace excitement and intrigue as you sleuth using a homemade periscope. Appropriate for kids ages 6-12. Space is limited; registration is required.

Make a Colorado map that leads to treasure as we learn about the Gold Rush and pan for gold in water and sand. Check the weight of your gold and decorate a satchel for taking your treasure home. Appropriate for kids ages 5-12. Space is limited; registration is required.
