Marma Designs & Sewing School hosts this beginner’s sewing class for kids ages 9-12. Learn the basics of sewing, including how to properly thread and safely use a sewing machine, troubleshooting, layouts, measuring, and fabric cutting. Participants will come out of the class with their own handmade tote bag. Fabric and materials will be provided. Bring your own machine or use one of ours. Space is limited; registration recommended. 

During this session, we will put the finishing touches on a patchwork quilt started in January. If you already completed the quilt (or never started), we will have an alternative project available. Already working on a personal sewing project and just looking for some company while you create? No problem. Use our machines to work on your own in-progress piece. Sewing machines and basic textile-oriented tools will be available, as well as friendly conversation and advice. No registration necessary.

Create a useful pouch, and learn how to add a zipper. Get hands-on with different science, technology, engineering and math activities. This month, use a sewing machine and other textile techniques to make one-of-a-kind projects.
