Customer Spotlight: A Reluctant Gyroscope
Have you ever started a project you didn’t end up finishing? Yeah, me too. I have lists and partially begun projects sprinkled across my mind and in the cardboard box in my coat closet. I am a chronic project starter and not finisher. Our latest customer spotlight is Gabriel, a high-school student who decided to tackle his overlooked project and make something amazing.

For those of you who are new to the growing network of amateur inventors and creators, informal learning labs can be tailored to meet the experimental and experiential learning goals of its community. It’s all about designing solutions to problems or questions you have created.

The Studio Open House
Explore the many creative paths available at The Studio at Anythink during our open house. From video production to 3D printing, the creation process will be in your hands during our series of workshops for all ages. Drop by for one session or stay for the whole day, working together with Anythink's artists in residence and our Studio team.
10 am – Video production with Tyson Kartchner
Learn about videography, composition and filming techniques, and then create your own video using your phone or other device. Wrap up this workshop with post-production tips and Q&A.
11 am – Storytelling with Chris Vandijk
Storytelling is an art, and Chris will share some ways to fine-tune your craft. Participants will leave with a better understanding of what makes a good story and an outline to get started on their own.
12 pm – Sewing alterations with Kathy Renz
Kathy from Sassy Selections will provide an overview of alterations, and then participants will learn a few basic techniques for shirts, pants and jeans.
1-3 pm – 3D Printing and Design with Mahi Palanisami
Mahi from Hypatia Studio will help demystify the 3D printing process using TinkerCAD. Whether you already have a project in mind, or you’re designing for the first time, work with other participants to develop your project and learn something new.
Sew and Decorate Stockings!
