Anythink launches new subscription box service
To celebrate early literacy and inspire a love of learning, Anythink announces the launch of a new subscription service just for kids. The Anythink Box provides children ages 5-12 with a variety of hand-selected books, mailed directly to their home. Families who sign up online will receive a specially packaged delivery twice per month, featuring fun surprises and notes from library staff, in addition to materials based on age and interest. Once read, all library titles can be returned to any of Anythink’s seven locations throughout Adams County. The Anythink Box is free and available to community members with an Anythink library card.
“The Anythink Box is an opportunity for us to bring the magic and wonder of a library visit to your doorstep,” says Anythink Director of Customer Experience Suzanne McGowan. “This past year has brought so much change to children’s lives. Providing these special deliveries, filled with hand-selected books and surprises, is one way that we can share some joy and delight with kids in our community.”
Interest in subscription box services has grown over the past few years, with a number of industries now offering to deliver their products directly to customers. The Anythink Box provides a unique approach to this service, getting library materials to kids whose families may not be able to visit the library as frequently as they like. Anythink staff will use their expertise to hand-select the books, and recipients are encouraged to provide feedback on titles to help tailor their next delivery. When signing up, participants can also take a short quiz to determine which titles they might enjoy.
The Anythink Box will launch with a limited number of subscription spots available, and caregivers are encouraged to sign up each recipient individually. Participants may pause or cancel the service at any time. As the initiative expands, Anythink hopes to add additional age ranges and boxes based on genre interests.
