Sponsored by Anythink Brighton and Braveheart, Inc., this all-day training course is an interactive, hands-on learning experience that will provide vital health and safety information for babysitting. Additionally, attendees will learn leadership skills, the business of babysitting, common first aid situations, and how to recognize emergencies. Students who complete the course will receive a certificate, as well as take home reference materials. Appropriate for ages 11-15. Space is limited; registration required. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s… a Super Bot! Join us as each participant will make their own superhero-inspired robot, and test them out in the Battle Royale Arena - a shrinking play field. Test your engineering skills, battle it out, learn new skills and make new friends! This multi-player showdown will make for nothing short of a great time. At this special Anime Club, join Pop Culture Classroom's professional comic artists and explore what differentiates Japanese manga from western comic art. Gather to enjoy snacks and watch a documentary about the world of comic books told through the thoughts and images of the creators, artists, writers, collectors, store owners, independent publishers, and especially the passionate fans who have made it the phenomenon that it is today. Then learn about how to use our streaming movie service, Kanopy, free with your library card. Refreshments will be served. Appropriate for tweens & teens in grades 6-12. No registration required.
