A cherry snow cone on a hot summer day is a perfect treat. But what about pickle juice and shaved ice? Together, we will explore what foods will and what foods will not snow cone. Appropriate for students in grades 6-12.
Work in teams to create a parachute for water balloons using some good – not great – and some downright awful supplies. Success is a safe landing or the biggest smash possible. Build good or bad parachutes – the floor will sort out the rest. Appropriate for tweens and teens grades 6 and up. No registration required.

This two-part class will explore the various processes and techniques involved in creating detailed scientific paintings and the ways in which biological research specimens can be used for artistic expression. Participants will have the opportunity to complete an acrylic painting while observing real zoological specimens including tropical butterflies, bones, feathers, and natural objects.
