What makes our garden grow? You! Join members of Anythink York Street’s Teen Action Board as we work in our garden plot. Help us grow fruits and veggies and participate in teen farmer’s markets. Children in elementary school are invited to read to our wonderful dog volunteers. They join us on the third Saturday of each month. This is an excellent program for children who are learning to read or need practice reading. Our patient dogs love to listen and they never criticize. Learn how to sew with our team of sewists. This month, re-style clothes to fit you. Bring clean clothes that you want to fit you better so that they’ll make you look and feel wonderful. Learn how to tailor your garments and to make the adjustments such as hems, waists, busts, side seams and much more. You can also practice with “stunt clothes” that we’ll have on hand. Grab the family and meet new neighbors at Anythink Backyard Concert Series. Kick off the 2019 series with Union Gray at the one-acre park adjacent to Anythink Wright Farms. You don’t even have to pack your picnic basket – we’ll have food and beverages available for purchase at a minimal price. Delicious beers will be available from our generous sponsor, Periodic Brewing. Food options include Basecamp ProvisionsCorner of Gourmet and Taste of Texas BBQ.

Not only is this a fun, free Friday night – it’s also a fundraiser for the Anythink Foundation. Funds raised through food and beverage sales help Anythink to provide special programs and projects for the community. Supporters can also donate at the show and online here.

The Backyard Concert Series is free and open to the public, from 6:30-8:30 pm, on the second Friday of each month. Food and drinks will be available starting at 5:30 pm.

About the band 

Union Gray is a grassroots, rockin' country band from Denver. Their brand of country mixes flavors from the red dirt of Oklahoma down to the heart of Texas and up to Nashville. They have shared the the stage as support for artists such as Cody Canada and the Departed, Craig Morgan, Dwight Yoakam and more.

Denver's tech industry is booming, but is it benefitting everyone? Whether you believe that this new economic growth is ideal for our community or you're concerned that it's contributing to ripple effects like housing displacement and inequity, you're invited to take a seat at the table for Better Arguments: Tech Boom Tensions

Presented by Anythink, the Aspen Institute, Allstate, and Facing History and Ourselves, Better Arguments: Tech Boom Tensions is a gathering designed to help bridge ideological divides – not by papering over those divides but by teaching Americans how to have better arguments. This convening of a wide range of Denver-area residents will discuss opportunities and challenges related to the tech boom. Attendess will have the opportunity to engage each other in healthy dialogue to address tensions related to the tech boom in a rapidly changing region. The morning program will include remarks by local and national leaders, facilitated conversations and interactive training, as well as invitations to participate in follow-up sessions.

Attendees are encouraged to pitch action ideas – selected participants will receive seed funding for their ideas from the Better Arguments Project.
