Learn first-hand about Anythink Perl Mack’s new collaborative public art installation, “The Singing Tree,” with its creators at Alt Ethos. Taking inspiration from music and nature, “The Singing Tree” will use light and sound to encourage uninhibited play and joyous imagination. During this community workshop, join Denver Arts + Technology Advancement and Sphero to create your own mix of art and music using Specdrums. Specdrums are app-enabled rings that allow you to create customizable sounds, beats and loops by tapping colors. “The Singing Tree” will be installed this spring at Anythink Perl Mack. All ages welcome.

This workshop will explore the most important aspects of organic gardening in Colorado. Learn how to plan your garden to make the most of your growing space throughout the season. Other topics include soil preparation, water conservation, harvesting, and an overview of cool and warm season crops.

Therapy dogs provide a safe, non-judgmental audience for kids to practice their reading aloud. Bring a book you have been working on or choose from one of ours. Read to one of our patient furry friends. This program is appropriate for ages 6-12. Reading sessions will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Have you ever wanted to be a vendor at a farmer’s market or sell the goods you make at home? Discover the important details of the Colorado Cottage Foods Act with the experts at CSU Extension. During this course, you’ll learn the food safety guidelines required to operate a small home-based cottage food business, including storage, transport and sales. Attendees who participate in this course will meet the training requirements for the Colorado Cottage Foods Act and earn a 3-year certification. Appropriate for adults. Drop in to use our sewing machines, Cricuts, 3D printers and more. Get one-on-one or group help to start a new project, finish something you've started, or simply learn something new. The Studio will help you take your skills to the next level.
Learn how to sew with our team of sewists. The first hour and a half we will make a special project. The final half hour will be spent on mending, so feel free to bring anything that is in need of repair.
Children in elementary school are invited to read to our wonderful dog volunteers. They join us on the third Saturday of each month. This is an excellent program for children who are learning to read or need practice reading. Our patient dogs love to listen and they never criticize. Explore historic Bromley Farm and learn about Brighton’s agricultural history in the rooms where it happened. Tour the farm with Lou Ellen Bromley, learn how to make Irish soda bread and shamrock butter with Lilly Steirer of Slow Foods Denver, and take part in a craft project to commemorate the day. This event will take place at Bromley Farm/Koizuma-Hishinuma Farm, located at 1594 E. Bromley Lane in Brighton. All ages welcome.
